Day 1 Review
I promised a daily review of my festival betting guide selections and here is the day 1 fallout.
In the Supreme, Asterion Forlonge jumped right throughout the race and finished 4th for a loss of 1pt.
In the Arkle, Esprit Du Large was a faller, but Rouge Vif snatched 3rd on the line for a return. A loss of 0.05 on the race for a total loss of 1.05 after two races.
In the Ultima, Mister Malarky was unplaced and I though Kildisart was going to win, but he was a narrow 2nd. A loss of 0.13 on the race and down 1.18 overall.
Two failures in the Champion Hurdle, with neither close and a loss of 1pt on the race and 2.18 overall.
In the Mares it was a loss for Roksana and Apples Jade is to run in the stayers so was a non-runner here. A loss of 0.5pts and 2.68 down overall.
Two losers again in the Northern Trust and another 1pt loss taking the day to 3.68 loss.
The day finished with a winner though. Battleoverdoyen now runs on Wednesday so was a non-runner here, but Ravenhill won. Sadly I took 8-1 and he went off at 12-1 and no best odds guarantee for me! At the 8-1 it is a profit of 2.4 points on the race and I ended the day down 1.28 points.
