Day 4 Review
I promised a daily review of my festival betting guide selections and here is the day 4 fallout.
We started the day up 5.21 for the week.
The final day started with the Triumph Hurdle and my selection Aspire Tower finished 2nd after Goshen (who would have been an impressive winner) unseated his rider at the last hurdle. Aspire Tower delivered a 0.1 point profit on the race.
Next up was the County Hurdle, where Elusive Belle missed the places by one spot in 5th and Sofia’s Rock was a non-runner. That was a loss of 0.5 points to be 0.4 down on the day.
The Albert Bartlett did not go well with Harry Senior pulling up and Ramses De Teillee unplaced. A loss of 1 point on the race and 1.4 on the day.
Next up was the Gold Cup and my 1 point win bet on Al Boum Photo proved well placed as he fought off challengers on the run in to win a second consecutive Gold Cup. A profit of 3.5 points left me up 2.1 points on the day.
The Foxhunters saw the two horses I mentioned finish 2nd and 3rd behind a horse that started 66-1 and had no form to speak of! Shantou Flyer was 3rd which generated a profit of 0.5 points to send me up 2.6 on the day.
The Grand Annual was next and it was more profit. One The Slopes was a non-runner, but Us and Them was placed having been supported to 10-1. At the prices when I published, this was a profit of 0.75 points and with both Conflated and Portrush Ted not running in the last, the day finished with a profit of 3.35 points for a profit of 8.56 points over the Festival.
If you had followed the selections with a stake of £30 per race, then you should have won enough money to buy a 1% share of Silver Imperial. Feel free to give me a shout and I will sort out your paperwork!
I hope you enjoyed the Festival this year. With some uncertainty over racing in the near future, I am sure there are plenty of clues for next year that you can pick up from the replays, I had better get my ante-post books for 2021 open!
All the best
