Neil is Irish born and was brought up around horses, as his father Brian owned and bred horses.
Neil started riding out for a local trainer at 11 years of age eventually becoming a jockey who rode over 100 winners during his career before he turned to training in 2008. Neil’s training career has progressed quickly increasing both the number of horses he has had in training and the number of winners he sends out each year.
Neil moved to his current base of Conkwell Grange near Limpley Stoke just outside Bath in 2012 having previously trained in Devon. He is supported at Conkwell by a great team of staff and his family, wife Becky and two sons Patrick and Connor.
Mainly National Hunt focussed, Neil continues to send out regular runners and winners on the flat proving that he can turn his hand successfully to both codes.
The facilities at Conkwell are great and the team give a warm welcome to owners who come to visit their horses.
