Weekly Update 04-02-18
By BG Racing Syndicates On 4th February 2018
First up apologies for the lack of update last weekend, it means however that this is a bumper double issue of news!
We went over to Ireland two weeks ago and stayed with Alan Fleming, where we had a great morning on the gallops watching the horses work over hurdles and had breakfast with Dennis O’Regan and Barry Connell, who owns the horses with Alan.
Whilst over, we visited the yard where Justice Super has been staying during his injury rehab and met the team there who obviously take great care of their horses.
Back in England, I was down at the stables on Wednesday and I will cover that in the horse reports below!
The Way You Dance
Neil has brought The Way You Dance back into the main yard for training. He will need a couple of weeks walking and trotting before he starts cantering to build his fitness. I am really looking forward to seeing what TWYD can achieve this year and the year really feels underway now!
Now is the time to get involved in The Way You Dance, to be involved in all of his runs this season – see below for details.
We saw Justice Super on the gallops on Wednesday and those of you who follow BG Racing Syndicates on FaceBook will have seen that I uploaded a video from the gallops. If you have not seen it, you can view it by clicking this link. There is a commentary, but it was raining quite hard and the wind was blowing the rain strongly into my face and microphone, so please forgive the quality of the sound!
Johnny is really pleased with how Justice Super is going. He plans to start schooling him over hurdles in the next three or four weeks and then we will look for a suitable race for him.
Shares in Justice Super are only £260.50 per 1% which will cover the hopefully several races in the coming months. Justice Super has a massive upside if he stays sound and to get involved, please see below. I am doing a deal on Justice in that I will knock £50 off the price for anyone buying 5% for £1,250 – just contact me if you are interested.
I spent some time with Neil’s vet looking at My Brother on Wednesday. The really positive news is that My Brother is totally sound and the vet has given Neil the all clear to start cantering him. My Brother is certainly full of beans which is a really good sign as a horse that is in pain does not kick and buck the way he was! The vet said that My Brother was not moving quite as he should have been last time he saw him, but he had no such concerns this time and thinks that the extended period of steady exercise has really helped and he is happy to step up My Brother’s work now, albeit that he will keep an eye on the horse in the coming weeks to make sure that there are no further issues.
This is good news, see below for details of getting involved ahead of us getting him out to the racecourse.
From The Stables
Monday 22nd saw a winner for Neil when Williegolassiego won again and Neil followed this up with a winner through Happy Escape two days later and Kansas City Chief two days after that!
Johnny had a winner last Sunday when Ascendant won again.
Website and Social Media
I am keeping the website and social media updated frequently and I would appreciate anyone finding time to like and share Facebook posts and like and re-tweet Twitter updates from time to time!
Facebook have changed their setup so that you do not always see posts in your timeline if you have “liked” the BG Racing page. Instead, down the left menu there is a “Pages” sub-menu which shows updates from the pages you follow. Please click there to see BG Racing Updates.
I launched a Monthly Newsletter at the start of January and the February issue will be out soon. If you want to get a copy of this in future, then all you need to do is enter your email address in the box at the bottom of the website homepage.
Thinking of Joining Us?
I hope you have seen the video on the home page which outlines the benefits and experience of owning a share in a horse. Our three horses all have shares available and hopefully there is something for everyone.
The Way You Dance will be targeting three mile hurdle races and with an exciting winning debut over that distance there is lots to look forward to. Shares are £280.50 per 1% share and if the last two seasons are an indication, then there will be several opportunities to go racing and hopefully this season there will be plenty of prize money as well! Details on the horse page.
Justice Super is back with Johnny and nearly ready to run. Shares are £258.50 per 1% to 31st August and given that he could be capable of a higher level than that The Way You Dance, these do look good value right now. Details are on the horse page.
My Brother could be the best of the bunch in time. He was well rated on the flat and if he converts that ability to hurdles then he could be a “Saturday horse” capable of running in top races. Shares are £450 per 1% shareholding and this is a chance to get involved with an exciting prospect. Details on the horse page.
I should point out that all of the above include the purchase price of the horse. Should you decide to renew for a second year, you will only need to pay training fees which are under £200 per 1% share.
Contact me if you want any further information and I hope you have a great week.
