Weekly Update 07-01-18
By BG Racing Syndicates On 7th January 2018
Heavy ground is the order of the day at the moment with most meetings run on very soft going. It makes the racing very attritional and hard to predict and hopefully we will see some drying out soon ahead of the big Spring festivals. Talking of the Festivals, we have booked to go to Punchestown this year, going racing on the last two days, Friday and Saturday. Last time we were there it was as winning owners with Oscara Dara, but we might struggle to replicate that experience this time!
Plenty of racing in the coming weeks as I am off to the yards on the 20th to see the horses and then will be at Cheltenham on the 27th for Festival Trails day.
The Way You Dance
The Way You Dance remains absolutely fine and should be back in Neil’s main yard in a couple of weeks to start building up his fitness.
I spoke to Johnny this morning who is waiting on a date from the transporters for the return of Justice Super. This should be in the next week or so and hopefully I will be able to see him in the yard and take some pictures when I am down in a couple of weeks.
I have got hold of the vet’s report on My Brother and fortunately it does not sound too alarming! The vet noted that My Brother was not moving quite as he would have expected although he certainly was not lame. The vet could not find anything wrong other than some slight soreness in one of My Brother’s forelegs, but he recommended that Neil should take extra time at each stage of training just to make sure there is no issue. It will hold our plans up a few weeks but hopefully will be no worse than that.
From The Stables
On New Year’s day, Neil had a double early in the day when Tikkanbar won at Cheltenham and Dieg Man won impressively at long odds on.
Neil had another winner on Friday when Happy Escape won at 12-1 and Rainy Day Dylan gave him his fourth winner of the week on Saturday. With his other runners performing well, things are going well at the moment. Johnny and Alan did not have runners this week.
Website and Social Media
I am keeping the website and social media updated frequently and I would appreciate anyone finding time to like and share Facebook posts and like and retweet Twitter updates from time to time! Facebook have changed their setup so that you do not always see posts in your timeline if you have “liked” the BG Racing page. Instead, down the left menu there is a “Pages” sub-menu which shows updates from the pages you follow. Please click there to see BG Racing Updates.
I launched a Monthly Newsletter last week and if you want to get a copy of this in future, then all you need to do is enter your email address in the box at the bottom of the website homepage.
Thinking of Joining Us?
I hope you have seen the video on the home page which outlines the benefits and experience of owning a share in a horse. Our three horses all have shares available and hopefully there is something for everyone.
The Way You Dance will be targeting three mile hurdle races and with an exciting winning debut over that distance there is lots to look forward to. Shares are £280.50 per 1% share and if the last two seasons are an indication, then there will be several opportunities to go racing and hopefully this season there will be plenty of prize money as well! Details on the horse page.
Justice Super will be back with Johnny soon and I am really looking forward to seeing him. I was excited about what he might do when stepped up beyond two miles and we will hopefully get the chance to see, this season. Shares are £258.50 per 1% and he could be capable of a higher level than that The Way You Dance. Justice’s value is increasing daily as he gets close to a return from injury and now is the time to get involved. Details on the horse page.
My Brother could be the best of the bunch in time. He was well rated on the flat and if he converts that ability to hurdles then he could be a “Saturday horse” capable of running in top races. Shares are £450 per 1% shareholding and this is a chance to get involved with an exciting prospect. Details on the horse page.
