Weekly Update 02-04-18
By BG Racing Syndicates On 10th April 2018
The full weekly update is a bit late this week as I spent the weekend in Nottingham where I was watching the Elite Ice Hockey League playoff finals.
A report on each of the horses is provided below, but this is a really plea for any help you can offer me in terms of selling shares. All three horses will be running in the coming weeks and so now is a great time for me to get people involved as they will have an immediate interest. If you or anyone you know might be interested in a shareholding please ask them to get in touch with me asap.
I am happy to sell anything from 1%’s upwards, but I will offer a small discount on purchases of 5% or more. It would be brilliant to have some more people involved before the horses start running and I have to start changing the purchase prices and allocating prize money.
In case you have missed it in previous week, I have an e-book entitled “Racehorse Ownership – Everything You Might Have Wanted To Know But Would Not Have Known Who To Ask“. This is free to get hold of and if you have not got your copy then the download page can be accessed by following this link: https://www.bgracingsyndicates.co.uk/subscribe-for-our-free-guide/
The Way You Dance
Neil remains very happy with The Way You Dance. He feels early May is going to be the time when he is going to be ready to make his return. Everything is going exactly to plan at home and he is doing plenty of work and getting stronger all the time.
He should run regularly throughout the summer and autumn and offers plenty of chances to go racing and a pretty low entry cost. Shares are £280.50 per 1% share with (£275 per 1% share for purchases of 5% or more) and nothing else to pay until November should you decide to renew at that time.
Justice Super has schooled well and will be ready to return to action this weekend. At the moment however we are not sure whether the ground will be dry enough for us to do so and I have emailed the Justice Super shareholders details of running plans and options this morning. If the ground improves then Saturday’s 3.30pm race at Chepstow will see his return the racecourse, but if not, then weekend after will be the next opportunity.
Johnny thinks Justice Super could be capable of a handicap mark of at least 120 which would be a decent level of ability and hopefully he will be able to show us this on the racecourse soon!
If you (or anyone you know) would like to get involved, please could you contact me or tell them to contact me asap. £258.50 per 1% to 31st August including purchase of the share at a current valuation of the horse. Discounts on 5% or larger purchases reducing it to £250 per 1% share. You can buy a shareholding and come racing as an owner possibly this weekend! Please contact me if you need any more details.
Neil confirmed that My Brother is still going great guns at home. He is trying to make sure that the horse is doing plenty whilst making sure that he does not get too revved up as he is prone to do when he is in good order! Neil is really pleased with him and we are looking to have him on the racecourse at the end of the month.
With sales commissions etc, My Brother is valued at just under £26,000 and whilst this might seem a lot, there are not many other horses rated as high as him on the flat that have sold for less money that that in the period since 1st November. I have also obviously incurred all the training costs since 1st November which is why the shares in him run to 31st October to allow for recovery of the full year’s training fees. Shares are £450 per 1% or £430 per 1% share for purchases of 5% or more. Renewing for a second year if we decide to keep him going will be under £200 per 1% share from 1st November as only training fees would be needed at renewal. Please contact me if you want more information.
From The Stables
On Monday, Neil’s Seven Clans started the week with a win forging clear in the straight to win well. Neil’s other runner Wheres Mummy was well beaten and Alan’s Devils Glen looked not to handle the ground when fading fast before the home turn. Neil and Johnny both had runners in the 5.00pm at Lingfield on Tuesday. Master Burbidge led in the final furlong but weakened and finished 3rd. Retrieve plugged on to finish 6th. On Wednesday, Neil had three runners. Hollywood Dream had every chance at a big price inside the last furlong and was only beaten 3 necks and a half length but was outside the places. Masquerade Bling went even closer and missed the places by a nose! The other runner, Floral Queen was well beaten but she was 150-1, so this was hardly a surprise!
There were no runners from our stables on Thursday, but Neil had three fancied runners on Friday. Duke of Kilcorral figured in what turned out to be a two horse race and beat the third home by 40 lengths but that was only enough for 2nd when just held by his market rival. Dandolo Du Gite ran on strongly when others faded and went away close home for a nice win at 13/8, but at Chelmsford a big gamble on Silverturnstogold failed to be landed as he met all sorts of trouble in running after missing the break at the start of the race and he ended up only 6th. Beaten less than three lengths he could probably be considered unlucky as with a good start and clear run he would surely have gone close.
Neil provided three more runners on Saturday. Arden Dennis was pulled up, before Cape Banjo was beaten under two lengths in 5th having been well backed. Fortunately Seven Clans had his second win in the week when he won at 15/8. The week concluded with no runners on Sunday.
Thinking of Joining Us?
Our three horses all have shares available and now is the time to take the plunge as all will be running soon. All quoted prices include the purchase price of the horse. Should you decide to renew for a second year, you will only need to pay training fees which are under £200 per 1% share.
Contact me if you want any further information and I hope you have a great week.
