Weekly Update 12-07-19
By BG Racing Syndicates On 12th July 2019
Apologies for the late update this week, I was out and about during the early part of the week and whilst I managed to get a shareholder update out, I did not have time to get the website blog updated.
We are looking forward to our shareholders summer stable visit which takes place this weekend and then hopefully we will have some racing to look forward to.
The Way You Dance
I have spoken to a few shareholders about The Way You Dance in the last few days and there seems to be a general consensus that people are not desperate for him to be sold to get a rebate on this year’s fees. There seems to be a general feeling that having paid up to 31st October, people would like to see him run-up to that date and a couple of people suggested that we give him a change in scenery rather than sell him for someone else to do this. As a result, and with the full support of Neil Mulholland, we have decided to move The Way You Dance to a new yard and run him a few times to see if this sparks any return to form. It will make sense to keep TWYD on the flat (more race options this time of year) and I am meeting an Epsom trainer next week to discuss this. The Way You Dance will go to the Newmarket Horses in Training Sales in late October if he does not show improved form before then.
Fr Humphrey is still doing fine. We saw him last week and agreed with Neil to target the race at Southwell on Tuesday 23rd July. Neil needs to get him a racecourse gallop but could do with a couple of cooler days as he normally does that around 11 am or midday and it has been too hot to be sending horses off to gallop unnecessarily for the last week or so. If we do make the race on the 23rd, then I would like to look at another race on Sunday 4th August at Market Rasen as well. These would make a good first two targets with a race at Fontwell later in August that comes after about the right break thereafter. I will update the members’ area in the next couple of days.
Shares are being sold at only £125 per 1% share for the summer (to 31st October). 5% will be discounted to £600 and 9% to £1000. Please contact me if you might be interested and I will provide you with further information. These payments are all inclusive for the period with nothing else to pay. Shareholders will get badges when he runs and their share of any prize money won.
My Brother has been turned out for the summer. He will take some getting fit as he is getting pretty fat during his time off but hopefully, he is still on track to return to the course later this year.
From The Stables
I will do a double update covering runners from our yards in next week’s update.
Fees for horses are all-inclusive and buying a share in a BG Racing horse is a decision that you will not regret. Quoted prices (except for Fr Humphrey) include the purchase price of the horse and should you decide to renew for a second year, you will only need to pay training fees which are under £200 per 1% share. If you are interested in finding out more about what is involved, then please do get in touch as I would be delighted to discuss things with you.
I also have an e-book entitled “Racehorse Ownership – Everything You Might Have Wanted To Know But Would Not Have Known Who To Ask“. This is free and the download page can be accessed here.
Have a great week.
