Weekly Update 15-07-18
By BG Racing Syndicates On 15th July 2018
More action this week and another win as The Way You Dance got back into the winners enclosure again at Kempton on Wednesday night. Unfortunately post race he has developed a problem with his leg. Hopefully it will only hold us back a few days or a couple of weeks and I am pleased to report that he is better today than he was yesterday, which is all sounding hopeful! I am running a special offer on his shares at the moment, see below and contact me if you are interested.
The Way You Dance
You should have bought shares last week! We went to Kempton on Wednesday as 2nd favourite in a 2 mile handicap. Adam Kirby rode for us on this occasion. Pre-race Adam was concerned about the draw, as drawn on the outside at 11, Adam was not sure how easy it would be to get into the position he wanted just behind the leaders. Fortunately The Way You Dance was quickly away and Adam was able to pick his spot and get into it without any real difficulty.
After travelled beautifully during the race, TWYD was going strongly on the turn for home and Adam pulled him out to make his challenge. He was taken wide when the leader drifted left and as he went ahead he started to edge back to the right. He never bumped his rival and the other jockey never stopped riding, but towards the line TWYD was tiring and other horse rallied on the line to finish only a head behind.
Unfortunately, this necessitated a stewards enquiry and whilst the replays did not suggest an issue, it was a long and increasingly nervous wait before it was finally announced that the places remained unaltered. With all the drama over, we were finally able to receive our presentation and head to the winners room to watch another replay of the race.
Unfortunately, the morning after the race Neil reported that The Way You Dance had a small lump on one of his legs and thought he might have taken a knock in the race and he is having the leg iced. Hopefully this will not hold us up too much and we can get back to planning his next outing soon.
I am holding the share price at £280.50 per 1%, reducing to £275 per 1% if you buy 5% and £270 per 1% if you buy 10%. As a special offer, if you buy 5% or more, I will credit you with all prize money won so far this season – which is payable at the year end – this will mean that you already have about £250 of prize money in the bank, with plenty more chances to come racing this summer and there is nothing else to pay before renewal in October. Contact me for details.
I was speaking to someone earlier this week who was considering taking on Justice Super. Fingers crossed that this develops positively, but in the meantime, I am happy to hear from anyone else who might be interested, so if anyone reading this would like a well mannered and likeable horse as a hack / pet, please get in touch.
My Brother continues to recover from last weeks’ race. Neil has reported that he was stiff for a few days but has been getting better all the time. There is no rush for him at the moment, as there is no decent ground forecast in the near future anyway! I will spend some time looking at some possible options though, so more news on possible targets soon.
Shares in My Brother remain £450 for 1%, but I will discount these to £430 per 1% for 5% purchase and £410 per 1% for 10% purchases. This is an all in cost to 31st October 2018 and at renewal shares will be less than £200 per 1% share to cover training fees should you decide to stay involved for another year. Please contact me for more information.
From The Stables
Last Sunday, Neil had Parwich Lees and Fingerontheswitch beaten before Collodi ran well to be a close second. Over at Fairyhouse, Alan’s Lappet outran her odds – she was very green but was a comfortable 4th. On Monday, Neil ran three at Worcester, but all were beaten, Master Burbidge, Great Fairy and Morning Sequel all finishing unplaced. Johnny had a nice 9-1 winner at Wolverhampton when False Id got his head in front. The blinkers he was fitted with for this run seeming to do the trick!
We had no runners on Tuesday and on Wednesday, Neil had Vexillum unplaced at Bath. Johnny’s two runners, Hell of a Lady and Paraphenalia were both well beaten. The highlight therefore was of course the win of The Way You Dance at Kempton!
No runners for our stables on Thursday and then on Friday, Alan made sure all three trainers had a winner this week when Bolbec won at Cork! His other runners Glan Y Gors, Cerealice and Great Cleni did not managed to get placed though and for Neil, Novis Adventus faded at the end to drop out of contention.
Buying a share in one or both of the horses is a decision that you will not regret. All quoted prices include the purchase price of the horse and should you decide to renew for a second year, you will only need to pay training fees which are under £200 per 1% share. If you are interested in discussing what is involved, then please do get in touch as I would be delighted to discuss things with you. I also have an e-book entitled “Racehorse Ownership – Everything You Might Have Wanted To Know But Would Not Have Known Who To Ask“. This is free and the download page can be accessed by following this link: https://www.bgracingsyndicates.co.uk/subscribe-for-our-free-guide/
Have a great week.
