Weekly Update 17-12-17
By BG Racing Syndicates On 20th December 2017
Sorry the update is a few days late being published. The weekend was spent in the Cotswolds first at Cheltenham and then on Sunday hosting the Christmas stables visit (more of which below). Cracking racing at Cheltenham as usual albeit on this occasion the racing was marred by the fatal injury suffered by Starchitect who was on his way to winning Saturday’s big race.
The Way You Dance
thing new to report on The Way You Dance this week. I spoke to Neil on Sunday and he reported that he is absolutely fine and enjoying his break. He will be brought back in mid January.
I spoke to Johnny about bringing Justice Super back over after Christmas. We are looking good to get him back racing soon.
We saw My Brother on Sunday as part of our visit to the yards. I took some photos, which can be viewed from the link in the Christmas Stable Visit section.
My Brother looks really well. He is walking and trotting and Neil thinks that he should have him ready to run over hurdles in mid February all being well. Neil says that My Brother has settled in well and has a nice attitude. He is not very laid back, in fact he is quite excitable but seems to be enjoying doing what is asked of him. It is very much a case of so far so good!
From The Stables
Neil had a winner with Chirico Vallis on Friday and followed this up with Kalondra who won a nice novice chase on Saturday at Cheltenham. Alan also had a couple of nice performances on Sunday with Dom Dolo winning and All of Me finishing a close second to a smart favourite.
Christmas Stable Visit
We rounded off an excellent two day trip to Cheltenham races with the Christmas stable visit which went very well on Sunday. We started off at Neil’s yard seeing a couple of horses work and then met My Brother who was in very good order. After a coffee we headed up to Johnny’s where we toured the stables and walked across to see Johnny’s gallops. We then headed down to Cumberwell Park Golf Club where we had an excellent lunch before heading back to our respective homes. A thoroughly enjoyable day out!
Photos from the morning can be viewed here.
Marketing for New Shareholders
As mentioned previously, I have kicked off a big launch to try to attract new shareholders. There is a video on the home page to outline the benefits and experience of owning a share in a horse. Our three horses all have shares available and hopefully there is something for everyone.
The Way You Dance will be targeting three mile hurdle races and with an exciting winning debut over that distance there is lots to look forward to. Shares are £280.50 per 1% share and if the last two seasons are an indication, then there will be several opportunities to go racing and hopefully this season there will be plenty of prize money as well! Details on the horse page.
Justice Super will be back with Johnny in the New Year and I am really looking forward to seeing if we can get him back. I was excited about what he might do when stepped up beyond two miles and we will hopefully get the chance to see, this season. Shares are £258.50 per 1% and he could be capable of a higher level than that The Way You Dance, so the shares could look good value in hindsight. Details on the horse page.
My Brother could be the best of the bunch. He was well rated on the flat and if he converts that ability to hurdles then he could be a “Saturday horse” capable of running in top races. Shares are £450 per 1% shareholding and this is a chance to get involved with an exciting prospect. Details on the horse page.
