Weekly Update 22-07-18
By BG Racing Syndicates On 22nd July 2018
Still having some lovely summer weather and most of the racing is still taking place therefore on some pretty fast ground. The Way You Dance will need a couple of weeks off following his recent knock, so the lack of decent ground is not an issue for him, but My Brother is ready to go as soon as we get some better ground.
The Way You Dance
The knock that The Way You Dance took during his last race has been improving all week and the vet was in on Thursday and took a look at him. With less swelling on the leg he was able to scan the leg to get a better look at what had happened to cause the problem and identified a strained a muscle which was indeed probably caused by a kick or other impact. The vets advice is for The Way You Dance to have a couple of weeks off to ensure a full recovery. He will still be able to walk and do gentle exercise but will be kept from cantering or galloping. Having a firm diagnosis is quite reassuring and whilst we may not see him at the track for a short period, there should be no long term concern.
In the short term, I am holding the share price at £280.50 per 1%, reducing to £275 per 1% if you buy 5% and £270 per 1% if you buy 10%. As a special offer, if you buy 5% or more, I will credit you with all prize money won so far this season – which is payable at the year end – this will mean that you already have about £250 of prize money in the bank, with nothing else to pay before renewal in October. Contact me for details.
It looks like yet another possible taker of Justice Super has fallen through which is frustrating. If anyone reading this would like a well mannered and likeable horse as a hack / pet, please get in touch.
All is going well with My Brother and Neil reported that he is about ready for us to start looking for another race for him, but we do want to make sure that we have good ground for his next race. He was a bit stiff after Perth and Neil thinks he would really appreciate some softer ground. We will start to look for a suitable option.
Shares in My Brother remain £450 for 1%, but I will discount these to £430 per 1% for 5% purchase and £410 per 1% for 10% purchases. This is an all in cost to 31st October 2018 and at renewal shares will be less than £200 per 1% share to cover training fees should you decide to stay involved for another year. Please contact me for more information.
From The Stables
Last Saturday, Neil sent out a 33-1 winner. The day did not start well when Very Extravagent fell and then Chantecler tried to go with the winner and ended up losing four places on the run in. In the last, Willygolassiego faded in the home straight, but up front Free Bounty plugged on gamely to win. Over in Ireland, Alan’s runner continued to do well as Templemore Dream managed to make 3rd at 16-1.
Sunday was a very bad day for Neil’s yard. Champagne George came back lame and Rossetti was unplaced, before the fancied Admiral Kid broke down badly and was fatally injured. A sad day.
Despite the obvious sadness, the show had to go on on Monday and Neil ran two at Wolverhampton. County Peckham was unplaced, but American Patrol was placed at a generous SP of 12-1. On Tuesday, Beast was out of contention for Johnny and for Neil, Green or Black was second.
We had another winner on Wednesday as Neil ran several. Magical Thomas ran a cracker and was 2nd, Cape Banjo struggled, but Lee Side Lady ran really well and only just missed the places at a big price. Masquerade Bling was a surprise winner at Wolverhampton winning at a double figure price, before Penny Poet ran really well and narrowly failed to win. Moayadd got stuck far back however and could not challenge.
Nothing from our stables on Thursday or Friday and the week was rounded out on Saturday with a four runners for Neil. A third winner of the week arrived when Collodi battled on well to win. Shantou Village was an excellent third in a valuable race. Soupy Soups and Code of Law both ran well but missed the places.
Buying a share in one or both of the horses is a decision that you will not regret. All quoted prices include the purchase price of the horse and should you decide to renew for a second year, you will only need to pay training fees which are under £200 per 1% share. If you are interested in discussing what is involved, then please do get in touch as I would be delighted to discuss things with you. I also have an e-book entitled “Racehorse Ownership – Everything You Might Have Wanted To Know But Would Not Have Known Who To Ask“. This is free and the download page can be accessed by following this link: https://www.bgracingsyndicates.co.uk/subscribe-for-our-free-guide/
