Weekly Update 31-12-17
By BG Racing Syndicates On 31st December 2017
No update issued last week as it is a quiet time of year for us with all three horses not currently in full training. I hope you had a great Christmas and that the New Year parties are all organised for this evening.
Interesting racing over Christmas with favourites ruling the roost in England and shocks galore in Ireland. The English champion hurdle and gold cup leading fancies both won well with Buveur D’Air and Might Bite winning the big races at Kempton. The same was not the case in Ireland as first Sizing John and then Faugheen disappointed in their big mid season targets.
The Way You Dance
The Way You Dance remains absolutely fine and should be in mid to late January to start building up his fitness.
Great news on Justice Super, as I have spoken to the guys who are looking after his rehab in Ireland. They reported that he looks great and that they could not be happier with the horse. Their estimate is that Justice is already around 50% fit and could be ready to run in around six weeks. Johnny is making arrangements to get Justice back over to Twinhoe. He will be brought along steadily and Johnny intends to school him ahead of a run over hurdles which will then mean that he has a handicap mark should we wish to go down the handicap hurdle route.
As good as the news is on Justice Super, unfortunately it is less good in respect of My Brother. Neil had My Brother checked over by the vet ahead of starting cantering and unfortunately the vet suggested that My Brother would be better served by another month of walking and trotting before he starts cantering, as he has a minor niggle.
Neil seemed quite unconcerned about this, but it will hold up our plans for a few weeks.
From The Stables
Since the last update, our stables have fared reasonably. Neil had a 12-1 winner on the all weather on 22nd December when Ochos Rios won for the stable. Neil followed up with two winners on Boxing Day when Dalaman and Bishops Court both won and on the 28th Williegolassie go won at 18-1! Neil has had several placed runners as well recently and the stable seems to be going well. No winners for Johnny and Alan, but horses running well and a few places.
Marketing for New Shareholders
There is a video on the home page to outline the benefits and experience of owning a share in a horse. Our three horses all have shares available and hopefully there is something for everyone.
The Way You Dance will be targeting three mile hurdle races and with an exciting winning debut over that distance there is lots to look forward to. Shares are £280.50 per 1% share and if the last two seasons are an indication, then there will be several opportunities to go racing and hopefully this season there will be plenty of prize money as well! Details on the horse page.
Justice Super will be back with Johnny soon and I am really looking forward to seeing if we can get him back. I was excited about what he might do when stepped up beyond two miles and we will hopefully get the chance to see, this season. Shares are £258.50 per 1% and he could be capable of a higher level than that The Way You Dance. Justice’s value is increasing daily as he gets close to a return from injury and now is the time to get involved. Details on the horse page.
My Brother could be the best of the bunch in time. He was well rated on the flat and if he converts that ability to hurdles then he could be a “Saturday horse” capable of running in top races. Shares are £450 per 1% shareholding and this is a chance to get involved with an exciting prospect. Details on the horse page.

Happy New Year and let’s hope we have a great 2018 with the BG Racing horses!
